  Why Do JWS celebrate Memorial on different day than everyone else?

  jehovah's witnesses have explained many times at the memorial's why they celebrate a day before the jewish people celebrate passover.

  i do of course understand that tech, the jews are celebrating a different holiday than jws.

  i found a simple explanation of this a year ago, but now cannot locate it.

  Because this is another way in which they can disassociated themselves with wordly religions, just like the fact they teach that Jesus was impaled on a stake instead of a cross. Really, does it make any difference?

  Has anyone ever experienced a miracle?

  does anyone have a true story that unquestionably proves god's existence?

  bible stories or amazing coincidences do not count as a viable response, sorry to say.

  i'm asking as a person who, although good-hearted and "moral", has lost all faith in an outside god of any kind.

  I recall trying to reason with him that Jesus nor the angels act in a direct manner. But he was so adamant that it was so. I have never forgotten that conversation.

  That was one of the first seeds of doubt i ever expereinced. Who was I to tell this man, that his miracle was mistaken.

  This is one thing that sent up a red flag. I noticed JWs refuse to acknowledge other people's miracles and accounts of finding Jesus unless it's somehow tied into their organization.

  One time in field service, we met a man who said he used to do street preaching. The dub I was with said he was with Satan, implying that unless you preach the word as a JW, it's Satanic.

  Do JWs actually say this? How can Jehovah, a perfect God, be wrong? You would think something like this would send up a red flag to dubs.

  Help with ZELDA for Game Cube

  i am playing the zelda game for game cube with my friend's kids and we are stuck.

  we are on the island of the bird/postal people, we are trying to figure out where the master dungeon key is.

  i am going to go back to the room with the jars of water and bust all the jars just to make shure it is not hiding there.

  I believe the master dungeon key is near the top floor. I seem to remember using the grapling hook to swing over chasms. It's one of the parts where you are actually outside. I know that's a vague description but like others, I finished this game a long time ago.

  My thoughts exactly Odrade. It puzzles me how none of the JWs notice how frequently the WTS uses the FDS line. Doesn't it occur to them that they are being ordered around by a bunch of pompous, self righteous, delusional jerks? When are they going to wake up?

  i think i posted the fact that i suddenly stopped attending all the meetings, field service and all, very suddenly.

  not a single meeting this year.

  i guess i would describe myself now as a sort of little toe guy, a liberal christian.. of course, i have had all the elder visits asking me how i am doing etc.

  I noticed some freaky doctrines concerning Jesus. One dub who used to study with me told me that they only commemorate Jesus' death, and not his birthday or even his resurrection, because the latter does not "absolve us" of anything. The fact that they only celebrate his death sent a red flag, but like so many dubs, I supressed the idea.

  While Jesus pops up every now and then in a WT article, I did notice his basic gospel, which is central to the Christian faith, seems to get buried under propaganda pushing the faithful and discreet slave the oppressive dictators, and other drivel.

  One thing is certain, their faith is definately not centered around Jesus and his teachings.

  i remember when they would discourage kids from taking colors or coloring books to the meetings.

  so i thought ok, i will give my kid a pen and my book of bible stories to keep him busy.

  then they said that was a bad idea because he might write on the furniture and it wasnt good to teach them to write on the wbt publications.
